Laredo Jobs

Laredo is located in Webb County in the state of Texas. It can be found on the north bank of the Rio Grande in the southern part of the state right across from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas in Mexico. Much of Laredo's economy is based on the city’s international trade agreements with Mexico. The city also has the largest inland port in the entire U.S.

The major industries in Laredo are banking institutions including the Falcon International Bank, the International Bank of Commerce, the Laredo National Bank, and the Texas Community Bank. Other important industries include warehousing, importing and exporting and retail shopping. The majority of the population works for trade and transportation industries followed closely by government, educational and health services.

There has also been an increase for non-agricultural jobs throughout the new millennium and since the 1990s. In fact, Laredo has experienced a higher job growth rate than the state of Texas itself.
