Dallas is the third-largest city in Texas and the 9th largest in the entire United States of America. The city is considered the main economic center of the DFW Metroplex and surrounding counties. It is located in north central Texas, 70 miles south of the Oklahoma border and covers parts of Collin, Denton, Kaufman and Rockwall Counties.

The city also has an extensive network of public and private hospitals, including 6 major hospital systems. Tourism is also a major market providing Dallas jobs, especially when combined with conventions, hotels and local transportation.

The city has one of the largest concentrations for corporate headquarters in the country. Companies based in Dallas include AT&T, Comerica Bank, Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, Neiman Marcus, RadioShack, 7-Eleven, and Mary Kay Cosmetics. As far as retail, Dallas has more shopping centers per capita than any other city in the U.S.
