What are Masons?

Masons are construction workers who work with brick, stone, and cement. They fall into a number of categories, depending on specialty, and include brickmasons, blockmasons, refractory masons, stonemasons, and cementmasons.

What is the training required to become a Mason?

Most masons learn their trade on the job, although some acquire formal training in vocational schools or industry-based programs. Masons are unionized, and many hold apprenticeships lasting for up to three years. Good physical health and the ability to read blueprints are important qualities for a mason.
