Document Specialist/Technical Writer/Agronomist
Job Location: Saint Louis, MO
Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This will include ensuring consistency of study documents across crops and seasons and Quality Control reviews of study materials and documents. To maintain and improve technical skills, the candidate will also spend time conducting laboratory, greenhouse and/or field plant risk assessment studies necessary to support worldwide registration, commercialization and monitoring of genetically modified crop products. Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include: Creating and maintaining document templates for risk assessment studies conducted by the Crop Assessment Team Reviewing study reports and data for content, accuracy, and formatting and assuring adherence to all processes and quality standards Maintaining supporting documentation on Teamsite, an internal website (e.g., scientific references, in house Publications) Planning, implementation and reporting for greenhouse/field studies Assisting scientists with report Writing activities Other supporting activities M.Sc. or B.Sc. with 2 years experience in Crop Science or related field Excellent communication, Writing, and team work skills within a diverse organization Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects Ability to follow detailed and specified study processes Ability to write agronomic language to broad audience Ability to learn and use supporting IT systems Knowledge of experimental design and analysis Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, EndNote, Powerpoint, Adobe, and Visio Self motivating and ability to meet timelines and project target dates Experience and formal training in conducting independent and team research Desired Skills: Technical Writing experience Field research experience.
