1 Year Contract Position
This small, but extremely dynamic Content Publishing team offers exciting challenges and unparalleled opportunities to learn and document the latest technologies in the embedded and mobile platforms. Their mission is to provide partners and customers with the information they need to make outstanding embedded devices and applications with the company's software.
The Programmer Writer's primary responsibilities are to research, develop and write documentation for an OEM and ISV audience, derive documentation from sample source code written by both the content publishing and product team, and manage the technical review process. They will work with other Writers, a Documentation Lead and an Editor to define writing assignments. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of both native and managed code.
Required Skills for this Programmer Writer position includes the following:
3+ years work-related experience.
Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; work-related experience may substitute for a degree.
Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to read and write C/C++.
Able to work well under deadline pressure and have an aptitude for learning new tools and technologies quickly.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to follow instructions and to oversee or modify a schedule of tasks with minimal supervision.
Good judgment, time management and decision making skills.
Ability to be proactive in solving problems.
Experience writing online help for Developers, as well as, familiarity with the build and production processes used to create online Help.
Must have Developer oriented writing and code samples to be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the Visual Studio development system and Windows CE.
Work experience gained with the Redmond based Software Giant's internal content publishing tools.
Experience with BlueTooth or low level software programming (OS Kernel).
