Volt Technical Resources is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for the design of production tools and/or machines, and for developing solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, and tooling. This position supports new programs through the development of new processes, designing tooling and machinery, and developing production controls.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Plan and design processes for use in the manufacture of company products.
Analyze layout of equipment, workflow, production methods, and workforce utilization to maximize efficiency.
Re-design, repair or replace in-process production program equipment, production control hardware, and tooling.
Develop processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new programs.
Follow production schedule, and is aware of production needs.
Follow guidelines to assure machinery, room and materials are in compliance with QSR/ISO requirements.
Identify and implement necessary documentation for compliance and interacts with QA personnel to assure compliance.
Write procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment.
Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment, and investigates their potential application. Recommend incorporation of new technology for company applications where feasible and practical.
Required Skills for this Manufacturing Engineer position includes the following:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Minimum 3 years experience in a Machine Shop/Manufacturing setting preferred.
Knowledge of mechanical principles, machining practices, the properties of metals, and the application of mathematics and dimensions to production machinery and tooling.
Knowledge of modern fabrication and assembly techniques and machine-shop practices and techniques.
Strong drafting skills.
Able to mentally visualize and comprehend all aspects of a manufacturing equipment or tooling problem, understand the interrelationships of factors affecting a given situation, and be attentive to detail.
Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovations to solve production problems in a timely manner.
Ability to work effectively with little direction and/or few guidelines.
Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Working knowledge of computer systems and data processing.
Familiar with computer-controlled machine tools and have had exposure to high-volume automated production equipment.
Physical requirements: regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
