Programmer Writer - Gaming SDK, API
12+ Month Contract Position

Volt is looking for strong, versatile Programmer Writers to create gaming SDK, API and other technical developer documentation. Real-world, hands-on C# and C++ coding experience is required, as code is extracted from programs during the documentation process and keeping up with constant changes to written classes is a primary function of the position. To be considered candidates will be able to write code samples as whiteboarding/code writing will be required during an interview.

The Programmer Writer will have the ability to think strategically about programming and documentation problems, collaborate effectively with people from multiple groups, including other Writers, Developers, Program Managers, Testers and Developer Support, manage multiple assignments, and drive projects to completion.

Required Skills for this Programmer Writer position includes 3-5 years experience in the following:

Solid C# and C++ programming skills. Ability to write code scripts in these languages from scratch.

Strong technical writing skills, including previous SDK/API writing or experience writing to a developer audience.

Reference and conceptual documentation samples will be requested.

XML, Visual Studio, DirectX and networking familiarity strongly preferred.

Knowledge of 3D graphics and game programming strongly preferred.
