Volt is looking for a qualified candidate who will provide direct customer support by performing system-engineering tasks, for a client in the greater Spokane region. They will assist in designing and implementing hosted, managed, and customer specific solutions. Significant proficiency in concept of operations development, architecture design and review, requirements definition, system transition planning, and supporting customer defined system integration tasks are required.

Responsibilities include:

Perform systems engineering activities in all phases of a project, including: discovery, design, build, test, and deploy

Prepare statements of work that accurately reflect the scope of the project

Interface with various customers at the technical level and propose viable solutions in real time during customer meetings

Effectively identify, prioritize, and translate business goals/objectives into information technology strategies/solutions

Work with customers to identify high-level business requirements

Monitor project resources, set priorities, and provide project status reporting

Required Skills for this Network Engineer position includes the following:

5 years experience in a Professional Services or IT Consulting environment

Expert level knowledge in the fundamentals of IP and core IP technologies

Advanced level experience with Windows Server Operating Systems, Cisco IOS, firewalls, switches, and routing equipment

Experience with face-to-face interaction and communication with current and prospective clients

Knowledge of VoIP solutions in the enterprise, including Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity and Unified Messaging desired

B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

Cisco certification desired

Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer support skills

Ability to work in a team environment
