FUNCTION
My client is searching for an Accountant. Do you have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience and have a strong cost accounting background? Are you looking for that next step in your career? If you answered yes to all of these questions then this could be the position for you!!!!
My client is looking for a take charge, ideas type individual to be responsible for all aspects of accounting at this site. Responsibilities will include all accounting functions including general ledger data collection and reporting, payroll and accounts payable processing, and production information collection and reporting. Additional responsibilities will include the identification, analysis and implementation of operational excellence and cost savings opportunities. This key position reports directly to the Mine Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce corporate and site control procedures designed to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Develop new safeguards as necessary.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts (Operating and Capital) with explanations and support. Institute and maintain planning and control procedures including (cost accounting system) with analysis and variance reporting.
- Furnish timely internal operational and financial reports, and provide external reports as necessary. Revise and update reports to maximize usefulness and effectiveness.
- Direct the performance of mine accounting personnel. Provide training to keep the staff at the highest skill level to meet company needs and objectives.
- Be the site coordinator for audit compliance on both internal and external audits. Drive audits to timely completion.
- Provide financial analysis and business development assistance.
- Actively participate on the Leadership Team to drive operational excellence activities and maximize mine performance.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with Accounting or related major.
- MBA desirable, but not required.
- CPA and/or CMA a plus.
- Cost Accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of cost accounting and progressive financial and management experience required.
- Experience in a financial control / consolidation / reporting role, with strong preference given to experience in large, sophisticated manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing process and systems improvements a strong plus.
