Teradata DBA - Baltimore,MD - Fulltime Position

• Must be proficient in Teradata
• Responsible for physical database design, implementation, and support on specific database technologies; designs and implements back-up, recovery, archiving and conversion strategies
• Database objects for tables, users, roles, profiles, grants, etc. Design and monitor alerts, database parameters, and performance metrics
• Expert level SQL skills, understanding of Data Warehouse Metadata concepts, tools, and repositories
• Extensive experience writing UNIX shell scripts
• Familiarity with Micro Strategy tools would be a plus
• Organize and manage patches and releases
• Perform capacity and scalability planning
• Develop stored procedures and triggers
• Perform administrative functions related to database support and project activities
• Establish activity/project timelines
• Initiate activities and projects related to areas of responsibilities
• Provide 24X7 support
• Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Must possess effective verbal & written communication skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills a must
• Great interpersonal, reasoning, analytical skills
• Strong demonstration of leadership skills
• Advanced SQL knowledge
• Working knowledge of server hardware and general networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, routers, etc.)
• Excellent experience in Teradata Database Support and Teradata Database administration
• In-depth understanding of database technologies
• Good knowledge of Teradata V2R6 administration

• 4 year degree in Information Systems or an equivalent combination of course work and job experience
• Requires 3 to 5 years of database experience and technical certification

• 5-8 years of IT experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Teradata DBA
• Identify innovative, cost effective ways to implement and support physical databases technologies
• Prepare and communicate status, issues, and opportunities to the business
• Provide disaster planning, mitigation, and recovery.
