In the face of a declining economy and impending lay offs, what are some things you do to set yourself apart and help you to keep your job?

I found some good suggestions here:
http://www.bulletproofyourjob.com/

Can't wait for the book to come out for more tips. Any suggestions?
The book is on sale as of today Tuesday September 2nd, online as well as bookstores everywhere.

You can also sign up for my daily tip of the week at http://www.bulletproofyourjob.com/

Until you buy the book, here are a couple of tips to tease you:
- Set a Google alert with your boss' name so you know if he or she ever gets stopped for a DWI or is in the media for anything (do this on your personal e-mail account and always face check anything you find on the Internet!)
- Set a Technorati alert for your company to stay in touch with the blog chatter about your company - is it for sale?
- Always have a "Viagra handshake" to seal a deal, then finish the handshake with "the Clinton". What's that? Read this book to find out.
- Company gossip is gold and can help you bulletproof your job. However, never be known as the company gossip - just let him think he's your "BFF".

Hope this helps you. Thank you for supporting the book.
